This course includes discussions of assault prevention and self defense, including both psychological and physical techniques. It also addresses less lethal and lethal defensive tools such as tear gas, knives, and firearms.
Special event workers often operate in dynamic, unpredictable environments — often alone, in unfamiliar locations, and under time pressure. This practical, real-world training course equips rideshare drivers, delivery personnel, independent contractors, and other app-based workers (as well as the general public) with the situational awareness skills and safety strategies needed to recognize risks early, make smart decisions, and protect themselves on the job.
Designed specifically for today’s special event workforce, this course focuses on prevention, preparedness, and confident response.
Covering:
Exploring practical strategies to help you stay alert, make safer decisions, and protect both yourself and your personal information while on the job.
Learning how to identify common risks, manage difficult situations, use technology safely, and maintain professionalism in unpredictable environments.
Students should bring something to write with and comfortable clothes to move around in.
